Analysis of the approach of the municipalities to the smart city conception and selected examples of its applications

Abstract

Smart City is presently a widely popular topic that is on the rise and which is used, besides its technological attractiveness, as a tool for political competition. This paper is concerned with the analysis of the political appeal of this topic with respect to economic, time-related, technological and demonstration factors and presents examples of applying this topic in the field of waste management and transport engineering.
