Abstract
Routing in Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) is an aspect of current research. In this kind of network disconnections are frequent and nodes have limited resources, making the design of new routing strategies a challenging task. In previous work we have proposed APRP (Adaptive Potential Routing Protocol) and compared with existing protocols. APRP uses the mobility behavior of each node, captured by the number of meetings with other nodes during a time interval, to decide on the forwarding of messages. In this paper we analyze the impact of adding a confirmation strategy to this protocol. To evaluate that, an extended set of performance metrics is briefly discussed and applied using an extended simulation environment specific for DTNs.
