Abstract
The article identifies the main characteristics of the child as a client of psychological services, which must be considered by a child psychologist in order to increase the productivity of interaction and effective resolution of the request. Namely, the following leading characteristics are analyzed:unstable state of children’s ego (children’s ego is vulnerable and underdeveloped, which makes the child a difficult client), the leading role of play activities in interaction with the child (action dominates when working with a child, the psychologist must play by himself), taking into account the state of physical and emotional dependence of the child: the role of parents (main task - understanding and / or modifying family dynamics), heterogeneity of mental processes in childhood (counseling process includes child psychologist as a real object to be identified as a facilitator of development), “positive” and “negative” reactions of the child psychologist to the child-client (the child is able to cause unique emotional reactions that need to be understood). Based on these characteristics, the requirements for the personality of a child psychologist are determined.
