Abstract
The paper presents an examination of the operation of a single switch isolated resonant DC-DC converter. The converter is intended for charging low voltage energy storage elements, such as supercapacitors. The investigation of the converter is performerd with respect to different constructions of the high-frequency transformer. Two constructions are regarded – one having sectioned windings arrangements and one having interleaved winding arrangements. The obtained results demonstrate that the latter construction improves the efficiency of the converter.
