A novel scheme to configure DC short with printed monopole antenna for UAV datalink

Abstract

An advanced antenna design incorporates a dc short into it to enhance operational performance. The paper reports a novel concept to craft dc grounding of a printed monopole antenna that has been realized to meet the specific requirement of an onboard UAV datalink communication. The antenna has been designed and developed through a process to ensure the performance and quality of the airborne antenna as a certified product for specified standard and application.
