Erol","doi":"10.47935/CEDED.907096","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"Kazim Nami Duru (1876-1967) is one of the important intellectuals of the educational community in II Constitutional Monarchy Period.His efforts to rebuild the Turkish education system with the informations that he obtained about the Western education system,are prominently seen in his many works.Opening schools, educating teachers and preparing the guidebooks for the educators about their studies are amongs his main goals.The twenty-one of his almost fourty works are directly related to “education”.He tried to adapt his educational project based on the pedagogical principles to the preschool education program. The education aiming to develop the behaviors in the pozitive sense such as universal and self-directed ,ensures the preparation of the individual for the future.The education provides that people are be able to adopt to the social environment which they belong to, make plans for the future and learn to struggle with possible difficulties when trying to meet their needs. Many works of Kâzım Nâmi Duru focuses on pre-school education and serves this purpose.
