AitoloakarnaniaFortifications: An AR application for the promotion of the fortifications of Aitoloakarnania

Abstract

Throughout the last years technology has developed at a blistering pace and more and more augmented reality applications are being used. Therefore, cultural heritage sites have started to utilize AR technology in order to improve the visitor’s experience of visiting a site. This paper attempts to analyze the creation of the first AR application which features the main archaeological sites of the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania.
