Abstract

Development of smart concrete for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of structures is a new development in recent years which has enabled to have a continuous monitoring of stresses inside the structures. The introduction of smart materials has helped to improve the properties of concrete which helped it to make smart concrete. In this paper, some relevant works related to SHM using self-sensing smart concrete sensors are reviewed. The major materials available as smart materials along with the properties are listed.
