Abstract

This paper presents the problem of the energy system optimization for wind generators. The goal of this work is to maximize power extraction for a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind turbine with MPPT. A maximum power point tracking based on an On-Off control scheme is proposed. The algorithm of particle swarm optimization (PSO) is implemented to optimize an On-Off Controller. The results of the simulation show that the wind turbine can operate at its optimum power point for variable speed and power quality.
