Abstract

The objective of the present article is to show the implementation of a smart panel to be placed all around Guadalajara Metropolitan Zone, that will be equipped with an informative screen, a camera, and internet access. It will be in charge of requesting the traffic information from the surrounding zone using web services, taking pictures of its vision field to be later uploaded, showing traffic information of different road segments (estimated traveling time) and download pictures of other nearby panels to be also shown on its informative screen. The system has been implemented in an embedded system, capable of running the web services client, and computer vision processing.
