Abstract

Digital signal processor (DSP) evolution trends now to multicore architectures. Parallelization of signal processing algorithm becomes one of the most important challenge while migrating from single to multi-core. Specifically, a problem of such a classical DSP algorithm as finite impulse response (FIR) filtering implementation on multicore DSP is of great interest. Parallel form of FIR filter for implementation on multicore DSP is considered in this paper. TMS320C6678 DSP from Texas Instruments is used. It is shown that parallel FIR form has some advantages over direct FIR form when implementing on multicore processor.
