Abstract

This paper deals with the performance analysis of direct torque controlled–squirrel-cage induction motor (DTC-SCIM) drive. The performance of classical switching table based DTC-SCIM has been compared with that employed with space-vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM). A PI based speed controller is employed in outer loop for both the schemes. The model of DTC-SCIM drive system is developed and simulation is done in closed-loop. The drive performances have been observed for various step changes in load torque and reference speed. The simulation results have been presented and discussed in detail.
