Through researches on the wake effect of wind turbine and wind farm, the influence range of wake and its influence on wind power output can be determined. Influence range of wind turbine wake can be used as a reference for design of layout of wind farm. This paper systematically discusses and compares the commonly used methods and models of wind turbine wake research, and the actuator disk model is selected for a preliminary simulation demonstration with FLUENT software. Abstract

Accurate simulation of wake distribution in wind farms is the basis for evaluating the power generation and efficiency of wind farms. Due to the wake effect, the power of wind turbine will be reduced and the fatigue load will increase, which will affect the healthy operation and service life of the wind turbines and the economic benefits of the wind farm. Through researches on the wake effect of wind turbine and wind farm, the influence range of wake and its influence on wind power output can be determined.
