Low-cost, fast, portable embedded system development

Abstract

What is described in this paper is a fast, efficient, embedded system development technique targeted to the Intel 8051/8031 microcontroller and its derivatives. It could be applied to a wide range of microcontrollers/ microprocessors that are supported by metacompilation. The method described is based on the IBM PC along with a set of low cost software tools.
