Abstract

The paper aims at analyzing the relationship between factors of the error climate and the individual reactions to errors at the workplace. In a cross-sectional field study we surveyed N = 1,237 apprentices in Germany and Switzerland. The questionnaire comprises questions on different dimensions of error climate as well as two reactions to errors (cognitive-behavioral reaction, affective-motivational reaction). The findings show that perceived error climate in the training company predicts the way in which apprentices deal individually with errors.
