Many filamentous fungi with prominent infiltration of neutrophils were observed intravascularly in these organs. Grocott strain and genetic analysis revealed that the fungi belong to Rhizopus microsporus group. We concluded that he died of sepsis and multiple organ failure due to disseminated mucormycosis.
