Abstract
The combined approach of conservation voltage reduction (CVR), distribution static compensator (D-STATCOM) and distributed generation (DG) is applied. The reduction of yearly economic loss is discussed in this article in order to maximize the techno-economical benefits. On the IEEE-69 radial bus system, four different cases have been studied using exponential loads, namely no control, CVR with DG, CVR with D-STATCOM, and CVR with DG and D-STATCOM. The optimal position and size for DG and D-STATCOM are chosen through the Rao-1 optimization. Simulation result shows that combined approach of CVR, D-STATCOM and DG has a larger impact on power consumption decrease of 3.97% and active power losses of 88% with maximum economic saving of $62610 compared to the other cases.
