Abstract
Many young people are lacking in emotional management and pressure adjustment capabilities. Prolonged emotional stress can easily lead to depression and self-harm, so this matter needs our much attention. Virtual reality technology is widely supported in rehabilitation and therapeutic applications. Art therapy is a psychological treatment or counseling approach that combines art, counseling, consultation and treatment. We propose the possibility of VR defined as an artistic medium through various documents and the choice of using VR as artwork for artistic creation, providing infinite creativity and the expansion of artistic treatment. In this paper, we use Tilt Brush invented by Google as an art medium to explore the effectiveness of virtual reality in the application of art therapy. The purpose is to improve the emotional management and pressure release of college students and explore the development of healthy personality. Tilt Brush can be drawn in 3D space with 2D strokes in a virtual space. In a completely immersive space, users can express their unspeakable loss and sadness through artistic strokes. Through this art therapy activity, personal potential emotional conflicts, personality development, mental abilities and interests can be presented. Qualitative interviews with art therapists gave us a breakthrough analysis. According to the description of traditional art therapy and VR art therapy, compare their strengths and weaknesses and find the most appropriate method to apply. It is hoped that a structured review of the factors related to the current and future state of VR art therapy will provide a good overview of the key issues and concerns associated with understanding and advancing this important application area.
