Abstract

The task of generating high-power microwave signals with controlled characteristics may be fulfilled in the particular case dealing with the systems where the source of output signal is the virtual cathode forming in the electron beam. With the help of natural experiment and numerical modulation it is shown that the preliminary periodical modulation of electron beam helps to achieve synchronization of virtual cathode oscillations to the frequency of controlling signal and also to half of its value.
