Abstract

The brush border of the intestinal epithelium is described in an actively feeding larvae of Calliphora erythrocephala Meig. It will persist intact after the appearance of the first signs of degeneration of the larval intestinal cells. It will then be invaginated inside the cell forming a "microvillar dense body."
