Scent dispersal mechanisms in the genus Striglina Guenée, with a description of a new species (Lepidoptera, Thyrididae)

Abstract

SYNOPSIS An account is given of the structure and possible function of the hair-pencil scent dispersal mechanisms found in the tibiaria-group of species of Striglina and a new species is described in the group. Notes on the possible evolution of the mechanism are included.
