Abstract

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) can be made to communicate intelligently to share a lot of traffic information for safely and efficiently driving. Development in technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, cloud computing, Machine Learning have enhanced the digital capabilities of VANET technology. However, even when communication performance has enhanced, security and privacy issues and threats have increased. In VANET for identity management and privacy-friendly authentication services Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs) are widely used. However, despite the security and privacy offered by PKI, there are still a number of challenges to be solved. In this paper, various possibilities of enhancing security by using block chain are discussed.
