Guidelines of parameter settings in 3D fast multipole method [RCS]

Abstract

Practical implementation of three dimensional fast multipole method depends on the parameter settings include group number, multipole number and approximate integral. A simple formula is derived so that the accuracy and efficiency of the method versus parameters can be easily investigated.
