Abstract

This paper presents a detailed methodology for the estimation and optimization of the annualized performances of wind turbines equipped with doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG). The method takes into account the losses and ratings of different system components : gearbox, DFIG, and power converters. The influence of the DC-bus voltage limit of the power converters on the annual energy yield reduction is analyzed and quantified.
