Abstract
In order to find the most efficient rectifier topologies, in terms of costs and losses, which will be utilized as the front-end rectifier in the DC power distribution in data center power supply systems, two different types of AC to DC converters/rectifiers, a three-phase Buck-type Current Source Rectifier (CSR) and a Multi-pulse rectifier, are investigated. Simulation models for both topologies are conducted in Ansoft/Simplorer and PSIM software, respectively. Practical specifications have been set by means of using respective datasheets, provided for the power elements, i.e. switches, diodes and transformers, the efficiencies and losses calculation, as well as performance of each rectifier are evaluated.
