A Research and Analytical Study of the Sources of the Hadith of the Interpreter in the Tafseer Umdat-ul-Bayan fi Tafseer Al-Quran

Abstract

Maulana Muhammad Ishaq Khan Al-Madani gives due place to the dialectical matters in his exegesis: Umdatul Bayan fi Tafsir al-Quran i.e. theology, prophesy and acoustics may be seen. He focuses Tauheed and builds his argument upon this fundamental belief in order to retain harmony among various sects, avoiding diverging sectarian outlooks. Another distinguishing feature is his fluent prose and easy diction so as to approach the masses. In the current article, an attempt has been made to explore his methodology in Tafsir regarding dialectal matters in ‘Umdatul Bayan fi Tafsir-ul-Quran’.
