Abstract

A method transforming relational database into enriched ontology is proposed. Many methods merely focus on transforming of database schema, transformed ontology has weak semantics and inconsistency. In this paper, database is transformed into ontology by traditional methods firstly, then consistency check is applied on it, at last its semantics is enriched, this course ensures high quality of the transformed ontology. During this course, a predefined basis ontology is used to reduce ontology-mapping and improve consistency. Experiment has been done to prove quality of transformed ontology is improved.
