Efficient increase in the integration of wind energy can be achieved by utilizing highly efficient and reliable wind turbines. Amid the various turbine available for wind extraction PMSG is one of the most promising technologies used nowadays. It allows variable speed operation with high efficiency. To achieve this, various control techniques are used for optimal power extraction. This paper proposes control techniques of pitch angle control (PAC) on the generator side and voltage-oriented control (VOC) on the grid side to achieve optimal power extraction for variable wind speed operation. Abstract
Over a decade, significant increase in generation of electricity from wind has been seen.
