Sir George Hadcock, 1861-1936

Abstract

Albert George Hadcock was born in Nottinghamshire on 22 March, 1861. It is some what difficult to present in concise form a complete account of his work ; due partly to the multiplicity of his activities, and partly to his dislike of any thing that savoured of self-advertisement. He was a man with great charm of manner and was much liked by all with whom he came in contact; and with his strong sense of humour was a most agreeable companion. As a young man Hadcock joined the Royal Artillery, gaining quick promotion there in — becoming Quarter-Master and Honorary Second Lieutenant in 1885.
