This paper presents a comparison of different control strategies of UPQC of three-phase system such as UPQC-P, UPQC-Q, UPQC-S in terms of their power consumption losses. Abstract

Unified Power Quality Compensator (UPQC) is a combination of Dynamic voltage regulator (DVR) and Dynamic Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) for mitigation of most power quality issues. Since involving two APFs, various control strategies have been proposed to enhance their utilization. Most control strategies can be classified into three categories- UPQC-P, UPQC-Q, and UPQC-S.
