Abstract

The development of a sustainable mobility is an aspect that nowadays involves mainly metropolitan areas, but in the next future it will also affect little cities thanks to new technologies always in advancement. These towns, located geographically far from the big cities, are characterized by low economic and demographic indices. Despite the harsh context, for a wide development of the electric mobility, little towns must keep pace with these changes to avoid being isolated from the main cities. People living in the countryside usually moves towards big cities for various reasons, either related to work or to living needs. This implies that people must be able to do their usual displacements using electric mobility, i.e. reaching the destinations and supplying the Electric Vehicle (EV) through charging infrastructure. This paper aims to study a feasible use of the electric mobility applied on the case of Cuenca, located in middle Spain. A brief presentation of the geographic region is provided together with the routes of interest considered. Then, a set of different EVs is taken as reference and an analytical modelisation of the vehicle is provided. Vehicle model is then used to simulate the electrical energy request to complete each route, and results are used to compare the performances offered by different types of EVs chosen.
