They are self-configuring networks that lack a fixed infrastructure structure, and routing is crucial to their operation. Rate control is a critical function of the data link layer, and rate control algorithms are responsible for optimizing performance by dynamically selecting rates depending on the conditions of the channel. In this paper, we proposed a cross-layer approach for optimizing the performance of MANETs.
