The way he defines the concepts and argues the formative-informative relationship may be surprising today, but hard to dispute. Abstract

The entire work of Clement of Alexandria, but especially the work "The Pedagogue", constitutes a brilliant synthesis of Christian theological and educational thought from the end of the 2nd Christian century, but also a reference document for the subsequent stages of development of pedagogy.
