Abstract

The Charge-discharge cycle performance of lead acid batteries has been analyzed in view of accurate estimation of state of charge at dynamic battery operations. In this article we report a constant current discharging method, on a Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery. The results show better performance with different discharging rates. The cyclic performance of the battery was carried out at different discharge rates. In the performance assessment, state of charge (SOC) have been estimated and correlated with coulomb counting method which resulted in close agreement.
