Abstract

Childhood Longitudinal Study-Kindergarten Cohort (ECLS-K). This is a nationally representative longitudinal study of more than 20,000 children who began kindergarten in the 1998-1999 school year. Data collected include direct assessments of children as well as interviews with parents, teachers, and school administrators. Teachers and school administrators reported on school characteristics, and parents on family and child characteristics, when the children were in kindergarten. Child outcomes reported in this study were measured in the third grade.
