Abstract
This paper describes sonic communication using an electrostatic driver. The electrostatic driver is capable of transmitting and receiving audible and inaudible sounds. This allows sonic communication between robots and humans or between robots using a single sensor. We designed an electrostatic driver, and measured and evaluated its directivity, frequency characteristics, and transmission/reception characteristics between the same device.
