Scaling new heights [offshore wind farm development]

Abstract

This paper discusses the many challenges faced by offshore wind farm developers and how these can be overcome. While costs, finance, construction and connecting the farm to the electricity network are legitimate concerns for developers, they need to realize that the issues of shipping, fishing, birds, and radar for aviation also have to be addressed.
