Research on the Scattering Characteristics of the Van Atta Cube Scatterer

Abstract

In order to realize good omnidirectional backtracking of electromagnetic waves, a Van Atta cube scatterer consists of six identical Van Atta plane arrays is proposed. In this paper, the scattering characteristics in different incident directions are emphatically studied. Simulation results show that the Van Atta cube scatterer has the advantage of omnidirectional scattering, with the effective backtracking angle range exceeding 77% of the whole angle domain.
