It is an integrated process that allows stakeholders develop water resources sustainably. Sustainable water resource system makes support long-term development, no destruction of hydrological and ecological integrity as the goal. IWRM is by the goal, institutions, implement, and adapt to reflect the merger of top-down and bottom-up approach. Large-scale adoption of IWRM is comprised of objectives, institutions, implementation, and adaptation, reflecting merging of top-down and bottom-up approaches. With the development of economy, there exists conflict between increasing demand for water and limited water resources. IWRM is a promising mechanism to better use and share water resources. In this article China is an example of implementing IWRM.
