Abstract

We presented a reconfigurable bi-directional WDM optical switch matrix and its potential role in a cross-cube architecture. The presented optical switch matrices have shown extinction ratios greater than 40 dB, propagation losses of less than 1 dB/cm and reconfigurations times of less than 100 ns with a footprint of less than 0.3 cm2.
