Quality Assessment of Translators Using Deep Neural Networks for Polish-English and English-Polish Translation

Abstract

Most people today use commercial machine translators in various aspects of their lives: school, web translation, documentation translation, chat rooms, document translation, etc. Nevertheless, these tools do not always perform on such a great level as professional translators. In this article we show what problems we encounter with solutions like Google Translate, DeepL and Marian MT trained models when translating from Polish to English and vice versa. We analyze the results obtained in a survey, which was evaluated by a specialist. We prove that an open source tool based on Marian MT gives promising results.
