Simulation results are mainly used for studying system performances such as input and output current harmonics, torque ripples and speed responses. Abstract

This paper introduces control system design based software packages, SIMNON and MATLAB/SIMULINK, for power electronics system simulation. A complete power electronics system typically consists of a rectifier bridge along with its smoothing capacitor, an inverter and a motor. The system components, featuring discrete or continuous, linear or nonlinear devices are modeled using mathematical equations.
