How an Affective Learning Environment for Learning Java Impacts the Student's Learning Results

Abstract

We present a descriptive statistical study about an Intelligent Learning Environment for learning Java programming and the student's learning results. Java Sensei is an Intelligent Learning Environment (ILE) built around an affective tutoring system working in a web-based environment. The ILE was implemented under different learning methodologies like problem solving for the pedagogical module, knowledge space for the expert module, and overlays for the student module.
