Abstract

Multimode antennas offering orthogonal operational modes can be applied at the mobile terminal in order to enhance signal reliability by diversity reception. Compared to conventional antenna techniques focusing on spatial diversity concepts, multimode antennas can be realized with reduced size requirements.
