Abstract

One of the main problems of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper, a novel approach to alleviate the PAPR problem of OFDM is presented. A generalized OFDM (GOFDM) with frequency-domain equalization (FDE) is proposed. Various FDE techniques based on zero forcing (ZF), maximum ratio combining (MRC) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) are considered.
