Abstract
Objective: To explore and analyze the early diagnosis effect of optical coherence tomography (OCT) in primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) patients. Method: A contrast experiment was designed on the subjects of 50 PSAG patients which was divided according to their state of illness into group A (25 cases, early stage) and group B (25 cases, advanced stages). In addition, 25 health examination cases of the same time period was added as control group. Patients in all three groups underwent OCT and results were analyzed. Results: Of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, group B had the smallest value, followed by group A and the control group had the largest value. The difference of pairwise comparison was statistically significant (P<0.05). In the comparison of the visual field defect values, group B > group A > control group, and the difference of pairwise comparison was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Using OCT in the early diagnosis of POAG can indeed achieve satisfactory results by providing explicit RNFL value and visual field defect manifestations, thus worth clinical application and promotion.
