Abstract

A detailed mathematical model for representing steady-state operation of a Type-3 wind generator, interfaced with an unbalanced distribution system, is proposed in this paper with appropriate modifications. The Newton-Raphson three-phase power flow algorithm has been suitably modified to incorporate the model of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). Various modes of operation of the DFIG have been modeled along with applicable operating constraints.
