Abstract
In this paper, the authors present a new synchronous frame current reference generation method for hybrid active power filter (HAPF), which can extract both harmonic and reactive current contained in the nonlinear load under the condition of unsymmetrical and non-sinusoidal source voltages. Furthermore, this method can extract selective order of harmonics, which enables the active filter to detect and compensate the lower order of harmonics while the passive counterpart compensates the residual harmonics. The stability of the system is also studied. Finally simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
