Abstract

This paper proposes a scheme to provide service mobility with required QoS for different applications in heterogeneous access networks. Some existing schemes and proposed schemes are surveyed and compared with respect to key QoS-related mechanisms and capabilities. We then introduce a proposed scheme supporting QoS and mobility across different access networks. This utilizes the Media-Independent Handover (MIH) Services and follows principles of the Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture. Correspondence among different service classes and parameters is also provided for service mobility using Media-Independent Handover (MIH) Services.
