The first part builds a 5G inspection device and conducts inspection planning analysis; the second part uses image processing technology to detect power line failures and to complete other inspection tasks, including image preprocessing, convolutional neural network classification and recognition. Through testing, the result shows that the flight performance, image and transmission performance, and defect-recognition performance of 5G drone inspection technology are better than traditional 4G technology. Which solves the problem of 4G drone technology not functioning well in high-altitude and alpine areas. Abstract

Upon entering high-altitude and alpine areas, the 4G drone inspection technology is prone to problems such as poor flight accuracy, high delay, low speed, and slow recognition speed etc. Thus, the research and application analysis of 5G drone inspection technology based on high-altitude and alpine areas becomes important.
